Junior Designer – BOSTON

Summary: Collaborates with designers, copywriters and clients to develop concepts, execute and deliver online and offline creative. Must be a team player who communicates well, juggles like a circus clown and never stops accelerating. Good times had by all. Reports to Creative Manager/Creative Directors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Great design ability – video/motion graphics and web a big plus
  • Listening and communicating clearly with others
  • Fearless ability to step into uncharted territory and succeed
  • Consistently work across many clients and different project types 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Customer service is essential to success here

Qualifications:

  • Entry level experience in design and/or art direction
  • College and/or portfolio school

PR Intern

HB/EMA, a growing integrated marketing firm defining a new approach to public relations, is looking to add a motivated PR intern to its Newton, Mass. team.

Candidates must have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Extraordinary writing capabilities
  • Willingness to learn new concepts
  • Interest in a potential career in public relations

In addition, candidates should be:

  • Majoring in PR, Marketing or related field
  • Able to work 10-20 hours per week
  • Within reasonable commuting distance to our Newton, Mass. office

This internship is for credit. Our intern will learn the basics of an entry-level PR position. Responsibilities may include: tracking and compiling media coverage, news monitoring, media list building, research, drafting media pitches and other tasks as assigned.

Creative Interns

We are currently seeking  summer Graphic Design Interns for a unique hands-on design experience. They will be responsible for developing and creating visual designs and layouts for print and electronic media. Working on branding, collateral, copy writing and advertising – design, copy and client management. Candidates should have a strong desire to gain experience, likes hard work, enjoys a frenetic pace, self-direction, and an entrepreneurial atmosphere. Must be imaginative, enthusiastic, willing to work on menial tasks as well as lofty ones, and able to use working hours for work, not social or personal business. Must be willing to learn about complex technologies and obscure markets — we work on high-profile clients AND clients whose products you will never have heard about and will find difficult to understand. Must be highly organized. Applicants should be willing to commit 20-40 hours per week at our new office in Newton, MA.

Key Intern Responsibilities and Requirements:
The position requires strong organizational & time management skills, communications, interpersonal skills, and of course, significant demonstrable skill in graphic design. Interactive and video experience is a plus. The applicant will report to a Senior Designer.

Required Skills:
– Graphic design background, experience with Mac computer software (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, etc)

Favorable Skills:
– Web expertise (HTML, CSS, XML, content management, etc)
– 4-color Printing knowledge
