Embedded Systems Design

About Embedded Systems Design, Inc. (ESD)
ESD (www. embedded-sys.com) is an embedded engineering services and
products company that delivers high-performance, real-time, embedded
processing systems. ESD designs applications and boards that use the
latest in field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technology.
Business Challenge
FPGA technology has shown a great deal of promise, yet FPGA adoption and
the development of combined hardware/software boundary solutions have
been held up by the lack of development tools and user friendly
processing fabric.
ESD is intent on addressing both of these obstacles and increasing FPGA
adoption by making FPGAs more readily available with its new product
architecture. To help meet this goal, ESD came to Hart-Boillot for help
garnering publicity for its innovative products.
Hart-Boillot Strategy
Hart-Boillot began its initiative with ESD by introducing the company to
target media in the embedded space in an effort to raise awareness for
this relatively unknown company. These meetings provided the opportunity
to offer background on ESD and its products, and also present the
company’s inspiring vision of how to bring out the potential of FPGAs in
numerous arenas.
Results
Within a matter of months, ESD experienced an explosion of attention from key industry media including dspZone, Eg3.com, Electronic Design, EDN, ATCA, DSP DesignLine, Embedded Technology, The RTC Group, Embedded.com and Electronic Products Magazine.
Hart-Boillot secured prominent, on-message coverage in three of the company’s most important publications, including:
- EDN Voices: Mark Wecht: Embedding high-performance technology – a stand-alone interview with ESD Founder and CEO Mark Wecht sharing his industry expertise on market challenges and the potential of FPGAs in the embedded world and beyond.
- EE Times: Top 10 Hot Products – Article ranks ESD’s MiniFX as one of the ten most popular products on the publication’s online product page.
- dspZone: Compact StreamBlade MiniFX FPGA Board Targets Streaming Applications in Telecom, SDR, Video and Voice – dspZone Editor Lee Goldberg raves about ESD’s technical skills and flexibility, and predicts the industry may soon “see an ATCA mezzanine card sporting all the functionality of ESD’s MiniFX processing boards.”
