The MacDuffie School

HB is actively engaged in an all encompassing public relations program with the 120-year old MacDuffie School, and has been since December 2010. During this time, HB has provided active counsel on a number of items relating to MacDuffie's recent institutional shift from a non-profit, private boarding and day school to a for-profit independent school that is owned by an education focused venture capital group. During that time a new headmaster has been put into place and the school campus was relocated from Springfield, Mass. to a scenic 26-acre property in the neighboring town of Granby.

All this change within the school has called for extensive communication strategy and PR counsel from HB that has resulted in positive community building, parent relations and reputation development. Specifically, HB has secured and facilitated five media tours of the new facility and campus. The corresponding print and broadcast coverage has had immediate impact on the school with their average open house attendance rate increasing from 30 prospective parents and students to over 300 attendees at their most recent open house in early April.
