Tail-F

About Tail-F
Tail-f Systems is the leading developer of XML-based network management
software for the providers of networking equipment and software.
Customers using Tail-f Systems’ technology radically reduce their
time-to-market and benefit from carrier-grade implementations of
NETCONF, Web, CLI, and SNMP interfaces.
Business Challenge
Amidst all of the noise and competition within the industry, Tail-f has a
clear goal to increase awareness around its own unique solutions in
order to accelerate adoption of its network management tools and
software. Tail-f recently looked to Hart-Boillot for help accomplishing
this goal by securing targeted media coverage at NXTcomm, a large trade
show that delivers the entire ecosystem of network-enabled voice, video,
and data at a single event.
Hart-Boillot Strategy
Working with Tail-f’s marketing department and CEO, Hart-Boillot
developed a plan focused around the NXTcomm 2008 conference to establish
Tail-f as an authority in network management. Since Tail-f was not
exhibiting at the show and would not have a booth, the company’s
presence had to be created and orchestrated entirely by Hart-Boillot.
Results
Through persistent, personalized outreach, Hart-Boillot arranged 12 meetings with key media including EE Times, Wireless Week and XChange
as well as analysts from Current Analysis, EMA, Frost & Sullivan,
Gartner, IDC, Infonetics and West Technology Research Solutions (WTRS).
The WTRS meeting resulted in a stand-alone Q&A with Tail-f CEO Dr.
Hakan Millroth in the September 10, 2008 WTRS newsletter “As Heard on
the Wire at WTRS.”
The interview discusses the design of highly available scalable network
management systems, the NETCONF standard and the “issues related to
building and operating robust and scalable networks that will provide
the infrastructure critical to enabling the growth of services delivered
to wireless (and wired) devices.”
The full text of the interview can be found here.
Hart-Boillot also secured a speaking opportunity for Tail-f’s CEO at
NXTcomm – a rare feat considering the company did not exhibit or sponsor
the show, as well as three contributed byline opportunities in
publications core to the company’s target market.
